The leaders of the Belgium play-off championship are ready to stand a very challenging fight against their hosts within the 9th round of Jupiler League this Thursday in Belgium — the always ambitious Anderlecht, who have just changed their head coach.
The Purple are spending this season weakly as they are in danger of losing all of the chances to get the Eurocups with their 5th standings position, 31 points and 6:16 goal difference. The only win Andrelecht snatched the last month was a triumph against Standard 2:1, but in other cases they drew Antwerp 1:1 and Gent 0:0 and also lost against Brugge 0:1 and Standard 0:5.
In contrast, Genk gained 50 points and thus got to the peloton top position with 18:7 goal difference. The Blauw-Wit lost in a fight of a principle against Brugge 2:30, but later proved their all serious intentions to get the championship leader spot with winning against Antwerp 4:0, Gent 1:0, Standard 3:1 and Brugge 3:1.
The guests, with their ambitions well above, are considered to be a favorite in this match, but Anderlecht are not the ones to go down without a fight — the Brussels will definitely try to make the leader play oplenly with lots of goals scored to the both sides' gates.
