Valverde doesn’t see problems in Barcelona0
Catalan Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde commented on the latest rumors of the team.
Barcelona wasn’t too stable at the start of the campaign this season. This was largely due to the absence of Lionel Messi, who missed the start of the championship and the Champions League due to injury. However, at the moment, this doesn’t prevent Blaugranas from fighting with Real for the first place ahead of the head-to-head encounter, which was postponed from October.
Barca have already secured themselves advancement to the Champions League play-offs from the first place, have all the chances on the triumph in the championship and looks decently according to results, despite problems with defense. The Catalans desperately lack a quality central defender, as Lenglet and Pique together are not as secure, as they should be, and Umtiti has not gained shape after an injury.
However, this doesn’t prevent team head coach Ernesto Valverde from singing praises to his club, where he will stay at the post until summer,
“It is understandable that right now is the decisive part of the season. Or at least a very important part of it. The team is strong and we don’t want that to change.
Had we played poorly, we wouldn’t have won against Atletico at Wanda Metropolitano. Yes, sometimes you win not showing your best football, but usually the team that wins the league, plays the best.”
Griezmann still hasn’t adapt to the team play and looks like an outcast against the background of the attack. Although, recently he has been trying to prove himself, he still looks as a shadow of his presence at Atletico.
Barcelona are experiencing a lot of difficulties. They haven’t met a decent opponent this season, as even inter with Borussia were unstable in the European cups. Nerazzurri, in spite of a decent game in the championship , in the Champions League looked bleak and insecure in defense. Therefore, the game with Real must become an indicator, despite the shape of the latter, who are in the same position as Barcelona.
