In recent years, Inter have become a solid top club and can now think about their future with peace of mind. It recently became known that the Nerazzurri have extended contracts with their leaders - Nicolo Barella and Federico Dimarco!

Back on performances for Cagliari in 2016-19, one could see the enormous potential of Barella, who initially moved to Inter on loan, and since the summer of 2020 he has been in the ranks of the Snakes on a permanent basis. During this time, the 26-year-old midfielder played 146 matches for the club in the Italian league, scored 13 goals and provided 30 assists. It was with Marco in the Nerazzurri squad that they became Italian champions in 2021, as well as Champions League finalists in 2023.

It is not surprising that many wealthy Premier League clubs were hunting for the Italian midfielder. Liverpool were even preparing to pay Inter the desired 70 million euros. However, the Italian club and Barella decided to continue cooperation. Nicolo's new employment agreement will run until the summer of 2028, and his salary will increase significantly.

Federico Dimarco, Barella’s peer, had a much more thorny path to recognition. During his career, the left wing-back defended the colors of Ascoli, Empoli, Sion, Parma and Verona, until Inter finally realized that he was quite up to the level of the club. Federico made 76 appearances for the Nerazzurri and scored 18 goals, demonstrating his solid attacking potential.

Inter did not have to persuade Dimarco for too long to extend his contract, since the footballer is a graduate of the blue-and-blacks club and is ready to maintain maximum loyalty to him. As in the case of Barella, it will be supported by the growth of the 26-year-old performer’s financial income, and the agreement itself runs until the summer of 2028.

Having renewed the contracts with their system-forming players, Inter clearly hinted that they do not plan to give them to other clubs. The Milanese giants are aiming to regain their hegemony in Serie A, as well as to perform well in the Champions League.
