Real don’t score again0
Real Madrid are close to an anti-record of no goals, which has not happened with the team for the past 33 years. In 1985, Los Blancos didn’t score for five matches, however, defeats from Sevilla (0:3), CSKA (0:1) and Alaves (0:1) as well as a draw with Atletico (0:0) may be the reason for such a bad streak to repeat.
This summer the club appointed Julen Lopetegui as the new head coach after Zinedine Zidane’s resignation one after the third in a row triumph in the Champions League. The Spaniard began the championship with three wins in a row and a victory in the group stage of the most prestigious European club tournament over Roma (3:0), but then a streak of misfortune followed.
Real’s defeats are connected to problems in defense as Carvajal still hasn’t recovered after a muscle injury and instead of him Lopetegui used Nacho and Lucas. Also, Marcelo’s injury shook the team. With the absence of swift wing-backs, both defense and Los Blancos’ attack has gotten worse. Benzema isn’t productive, just like bale because of the absence of support from rear.
Lopetegui cannot manage to find decision and because of that AS newspaper presumes that Real may soon replace the head coach because of the team’s results, similar to Rafael Benitez’s dismissal. The newspaper calls Antonio Conte, who after his departure from Chelsea is in search of a new place of work.
But currently Los BLancos’ footballers support the manager and the team captain Sergio Ramos called the possible dismissal of the Spaniard a madness,
“Other people make such decisions, but it’s always bad, when the head coach changes. That would be madness.
We need to move further as the season is very long and we have a long way to go. Everyone who says that Real Madrid are dead end up being wrong eventually.”
Conte is a principal manager, who demands complete dedication from footballers. He will not create a team spirit like Zidane. It is an expressive version of Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian would quickly fall out of favor of the club President Florentino Perez and because of that also would not stay long at the post. Therefore, Perez will tolerate Julen Lopetegui longer than Benitez solely because of the inertia when working with club management.
