Ben Foster has set a new record, which previously belonged to Petr Cech from London Arsenal. The Englishman has made 1008 saves in the EPL, thus overtaking the Czech colleague by three.

Watford played against London Tottenham in the English Premier League 24th round match. Although the Hornets were leading during the course of the match, they didn’t withhold the advantage and conceded twice, having lost 1:2. However, Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster made three saves, which allowed him to gain 1008 goal saves in his EPL career.

The Englishman began his career in the leading championship of England in the season of 2006/07, performing for Manchester United. The goalkeeper’s things didn’t go well because of the competition in the Red Devils’ camp; therefore, the goalkeeper spent two seasons on loan at Watford. After that, there was a transfer to Birmingham, West Bromwich and since 2018 Foster is a sterling English Watford player.

Petr Cech, who has announced thed end of his career this summer, will compete with Foster for the title of the best by reflected shots until the end of the season. There are 1005 saves in the Czech’s asscet. The third one in the list is Tim Howard, performing for Colorado Rapids, with 992 saves. Ex-goalkeeper of Manchester City Joe Hart occupies fourth position. In theory, the Englishman can move Foster, considering that Burnley goalkeeper is 31 years old and he has already made 942 saves. The current leader of the list is 35, but he is still a frequenter in short lists of English club during an open transfer window.

Foster has played 24 matches, five of which he ended with shut-outs for the Hornets this season. His Watford are occupying ninth place and by conceded goals they are ahead of Manchester United by one goal and concede to London Arsenal by one goal. Within the last five games Watford lost only to Tottenham and in the last round will visit Brighton, where will meet with the team of the same name. Bookmakers give a slight preference to the hosts with the odds on their victory of 2.55, while the odds on the guests are 3.00.
