Klopp will go on a break0
The Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, is going to take a break from football after the end of his contract with his current club.
Klopp came to Anfield in the fall of 2015, conquering the hearts of the Merseyside fans in the first season. The team led by the Germans evolved in the eyes and for two consecutive years ended in the Champions League finals. On June 1, 2019, Klopp and Liverpool again became the European champions in 14 years, and the coach won the award for the first time in his career.
Thanks to Klopp, the Reds this season competed equally with Manchester City for the English championship title, but lost by one point, taking second place. However, the German is not going to stop at the achievement. Klopp’s plans to finalize the contract that expires after the 2021/2022 season, and then go on a break, according to the Spanish source ESPN.
After the Champions League final, the club will say goodbye to Moreno and Sturridge, which were an integral part of the team even under Brendan Rogers. Both players also took part in the UEFA Europa League finals in 2016, but lost to Sevilla 1:3. The club decided not to extend contracts with the defender and the forward, letting them go as free agents. Klopp himself said in this interview about this decision,
“the most important thing we can say to these wonderful layers is thank you.
They were here when I took the manager post. They, like all the rest, helped us create a team, which will move forward in the right direction. Without them we wouldn’t be a team and a club, we are now.”
The fact that Klopp wants to win EPL is said by the fact that the club is interested in Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt. The Reds will be pressuring Barcelona, Real and Manchester United hard. The defender took the time to reflect on the proposal from the Red Devils. The Dutchman has a good relationship with van Dijk and Wijnaldum, so for Liverpool his offer is preferable. At the same time, the agent of the football player Mino Raiola may spoil the negotiations by exposing the excessive demands.
Thus, Klopp will have a great deal of work to be done next season. The German continues to manpower the team to fight on all fronts and does not intend to surrender in the next three years, even despite a direct competitor in the person of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
