Emery is conducting a cleanup0
Unai Emery is conducting another stage of a cleanup under his style in London Arsenal.
Last summer, London Arsenal announced the arrival of a new coach in the club - Unai Emery. During this time, the Spaniard built a good attacking football for the Gunners, but in the attack, as there were problems, they still remain.
The purchase of Sokratis, Lichtsteiner and Leno did not particularly help the defensive redoubts of the London club. Arsenal finished on fifth place in the championship, despite a series of more than twenty matches without a loss in all tournaments last fall. In the spring, The Gunners surprised by their amorphousness, losing points, as their direct competitors in the person of Tottenham, Chelsea and Man United.
The cherry on top of the cake of the dismal results of Arsenal was a crushing defeat in the Europa League final against Chelsea in London. Emery's team made blunders in the defense under formation of three central defenders, allowing the Blues to score four goals.
Now, seven players leave the club at once. Among them are Peter Cech, Stefan Lichtsteiner, Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck. The goalkeeper will leave as a sports director to Chelsea, and Ramsey, as it became known earlier, will move to Juventus in Turin.
There is a difficult task before Emery. He began to build a team for attacking football, forgetting about defense settings. The coach failed to reach the Champions League on the shoulders of Lacazette and Aubameyang, and a playmaker in the face of Mesut Ozil has not shown his level for the second consecutive season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, Arsenal claim two players in Italian Sampdoria. The Gunners are interested in Joachim Andersen and Dennis Praet. The English club offers the Genoese 45 million euros for both players, while Samporia agrees to say goodbye to them for no less than 50 million.
A defender, Andersen played 32 games for Sampdoria last season, receiving seven yellow cards and giving one assist. On account of a midfielder Praet there are 34 matches, two goals and three assists. The Belgian and Dane are 25 and 23 years old respectively, therefore, given Emery's ability to work with young people, the option for Arsenal is extremely suitable. The main thing for the Spaniard now is to keep Aubameyang and Lacazette, who have never heard the Champions League anthem in the Gunners' jersey.
