The Parisian club signed another halfback this transfer window. This time, Thomas Tuchel’s team was strengthened by Idrissa Gueye from Everton.

The French PSG continue strengthening their midfield line. After the transfers of Ander Herrera and Pablo Sarabia, the club signed Everton’s defensive halfback Idrissa Gueye. One cannot say that this transfer became necessary after Adrien Rabiot’s departure, as the club already had someone to replace the Frenchman with. However, Verratti could not cope with a destructive role completely and Sarabia and Herrera jointly couldn’t add a desired result.

Therefore, Gueye’s transfer to PSG looks logical, although is perplexing. To a greater extent, such an influx of midfielders in the team is comparable to London's Chelsea model of last summer. Back then, Sarri got seven player on one position. However, PSG did not have a conditional N’Golo Kante and therefore Gueye is called upon to cope with this role.

The Senegalese signed a contract for four years and will play under number 27. The transfer sum was about 32 million euros, as reported by Le Parisien edition. Last season Gueye played 35 matches for the Toffees, having not marked with efficient action. But whereas the footballer proved himself well in a bulldog role on the pitch and  helped the national team of Senegal take the silver medals of the African Cup of Nations this summer. His goal took the Lions of Teranga to the semifinals of the continental championship.

The fact that PSG do not strengthen the attacking line means that the club has no intention of selling Mbappe and Neymar, despite a number of rumors regarding their transfers. Of course, the Parisians’ management still have a month on transfers, but for now there are still no perquisites that they will sign someone to replace at least one player in the offensive three. PSG are letting slip even Nicolas Pepe from Lille, one should not speak about big personnel changes in the team of Tuchel this summer.
